Lunch - Leftover rice concoction with hummus and low fat wheat thins Dinner - Grilled Turkey Burger on bun with spinach leaves, cucumbers, and pickle Baked tater tots with ketchup Another successful day! Wish me luck on the weekend. I always have a hard time with the weekends because of the lack of routine. This weekend will be especially difficult because Andy is off work as well. I'll keep journaling regardless ;) La menu for the day:
Breakfast - whole wheat english muffin with peanut butter. Lunch - Spinach salad with ground turkey meat (taco seasoning), a dab of dressing, & croutons (not filling at all, need some protein - need something, already hungry, not going to fail now.) Those damn donuts that boss man brought in yesterday are still out on the counter - going to have to draw a cockroach on the box again, so I'm not tempted...oh, and there's chocolate cake sitting out too. Killin' me, killin' me. Dinner - I had planned for Andy to grill turkey burgers, but the meat wasn't thawed. So, what does Andy want? Frozen Pizza. I was not ruining my first day journaling. I concocted quite the meal for myself - brown rice, black beans, tuna, and a little bit of pesto. It was actually pretty good and I saved some for tomorrow's lunch. I also had a few wheat thins & hummus. Ended the evening with a glass o' wine. Day 1 - I told my friend Jen and my sister Julie that I was going to start a food journal - yesterday. Unfortunately, boss man brought in donuts for losing the football pool this week, now I can refrain from eating a donut, but the sprinkled donut holes got the best of me. I had a couple or 3 (wink, wink). Tomorrow is a new day and I will begin then. I welcome your comments and/or journals. I'm always interested in getting ideas about good healthy snacks and I look forward to this journey, I mean journal. Jen and I go walking around the park - we began our adventures jogging, but as the weather got hotter this summer, our pace got slower. Maybe now that it's cooling down, we'll start jogging again. After all, I did get some new kicks. I wore them for the first time yesterday and they gave me a blister, but I'm sure I'll break them in soon. They're very flashy and fun! Anyways, wish me luck. I bought a pound of spinach, some yummy dressings, feta, bacon bits (can't go without) and croutons.
