Renovation #1:We bought this house because of the neighborhood. It was one block north of the best park in town, in the heart of a historic district, and on a street painted with character. This house had character, just not the type to be proud of, more like the type we couldn't wait to take a sledge hammer to. It is a 1924 craftsman style bungalow turned spanish mess sometime in the nineties, restored to bungalow 2009! Andy and I saw potential, and before too long, so did my parents. What we didn't see was nearly 9 months of blood, sweat, and tears - tears from my parents' eyes. 1. because we were living with them during the remodel and 2. because my dad tore his shin up when he fell between the ceiling joists and my mom because she was scraping old vinyl tiles from the floor and a chunk stabbed her in the eyeball. We didn't really stumble upon any major surprises, unless you count the live possum in the bathroom wall, but it did take longer than we expected

Current Project: Not too long after finishing Renovation #1 we decided to move, it's a long story that I don't want to bore you with, but we're glad we did it. We live on a great street with lots of kids, near the same "best park in town", along with lots of character as well. While this house doesn't have the need for major renovations, we enjoy painting, decorating, and adding our personal style.
